As Chief Operating Officer, Sue Baek is in charge of all corporate operations and plays a key role in strategic planning of all company activities, including development, production and distribution of all Howe Sound Films’ programs. Her expertise includes financing, tax credit analysis and structuring co-productions, both interprovincial and international. She also oversees all Howe Sound Films’ legal affairs.
Prior to working with Howe Sound Films, Sue was Head of Business Affairs at Omni Film Productions of Vancouver and, previously, Business Affairs Analyst with Barna-Alper Productions in Toronto, where she was involved in the development, production and distribution of over 100 hours of award-winning television series, movies-of-the-week, documentary series and one-offs as well as feature films. Sue is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.A., Economics) and attended Ryerson University in the Film Studies program. She has also received training in the competitive BC Film Producer Program and intends to produce her film and television projects with Howe Sound Films.
Recent drama production credits include Dragon Boys, This Space For Rent, Alice I Think, Whiskey Echo, Show Me Yours and Blue Murder. Documentaries include Make Some Noise, Stuntdawgs, The Take, Turning Points of History, Frontiers of Construction and The Dark Years.
